My Disney Guide- Tips For Vegans

fullsizeoutput_13c9e.jpeg

Navigating Disney World as a vegan can seem daunting. While there are certainly tons of non vegan foods all over the parks it is possible to enjoy Disney as a vegan! On our recent trip we discovered some great spots to eat vegan at Disney and even tons of special treats and snacks! The girls didn’t feel deprived once and we were able to keep things fairly healthy!

Meals

Even Buffets Can be Modified

We did a few character buffets for meals as these are a great, way to get autographs and pictures without standing in line. While most of the food at a typical Disney buffet is not vegan we did find several salads and veggie options. At both the Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare our server asked if we wanted to speak to a chef about vegan options. While we felt comfortable navigating the buffet with the help of the allergy guide we were delighted when the girls were brought vegan cookies and sorbet for dessert at 1900 Park Fare!

ABC Commissary

We spent one half day at Hollywood Studios and had lunch at ABC Commissary. We were happy to discover they had a vegan burger on their regular menu! It was quite the decadent burger and not the most plant based but a good vegan treat for all of us!

Cinderella’s Royal Table

Lunch at Cinderella’s Royal Table was one of the highlights of our trip and not just because the girls got to meet four princesses! The menu included a large salad which our server happily made vegan for me as well as a vegetable cous cous dish that was delicious! For dessert the girls were yet again treated to sorbet, this time in cute to go cups because we had a Fast Pass to catch!

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen

By far our favorite lunch. A ton of vegan options on the menu including a falafel plate, and a noodle and edamame salad that Portia was obsessed with. This restaurant also had the best kids menu I have ever seen. Hermione had a salad, apple slices and vegetable curry she loved both times we visited!

Snacks and Treats

Popcorn

Did you know all of the buttered flavored popcorn at Disney parks is actually vegan? Yup! We certainly ate our fair share.

Mickey Pretzels

No Disney trip is complete without a Mickey Mouse shaped pretzel… or two! The soft and salty treats are totally vegan and delicious with mustard!

Dole Whip

My favorite Disney treat of all has to be Dole Whip. A long time cult favorite, the pineapple flavor is completely vegan ( the vanilla is not). There are now also orange and lime flavored Dole Whip which are also vegan!

Tink’s Pixie Dusted Cone

Lime Dole Whip on a green sugar cone surrounded by cotton candy and topped with Pixie Dust! This new and highly Insta-worthy treat is totally vegan if ordered without the white chocolate wings! We each got one on our last day and they were totally worth the wait!
