We just returned from a week long family vacation to Jamaica. With the freezing, icy, snowy weather we have been having in NYC the 85 degree heat was a welcome break. Doug's entire family was on the trip so Hermione got to spend a lot of time with her cousins, grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles. I have always said Hermione is a summer girl and this trip really proved it. She had such a ball spending the whole day in the pool and the ocean. She wore herself out so much from swimming and playing that she took a three hour nap everyday! We hadn't flown with Hermione since last winter when she was seven months old and not crawling yet so I really didn't know what to expect. I am happy to report she was a champ on both flights. She watched movies, read books, ate snacks, said hello to the people in the aisles, and played quietly most of the flight. On our way home we had some technical issues with my iPad so movies and apps weren't an option. She still did great! I was so proud of her!
Our first night in Jamaica was the Super Bowl and Hermione stayed up a little past her bedtime (7:30!) to catch the beginning of the game. She was thrilled the next morning when she woke up to the news that The Patriots and her hero Tom Brady had won! The rest of the trip was spent swimming in the pool, splashing in the ocean, and eating tons of tropical fruit. I brought a ton of cute sundresses for her to wear but she spent almost the whole trip in a bath suit and coverup. Guess those dresses will have to wait until the summer!Hermione's beach wardrobe:
