Cherry Vanilla Shake
I love cherries. As soon as they start to appear in the market in late June I go nuts. When organic cherries were recently on sale at Whole Foods I bought so many that I ended up freezing a whole bag full. Don’t be surprised if you see me making this smoothie in the middle of the winter and pretending it’s a hot summer day!
Besides their amazing taste, cherries have a whole host of health benefits. They are packed with antioxidants, have anti-inflammatory properties, are a low sugar fruit, and contain melatonin, which can help regulate your sleep! Pretty amazing little guys huh?
Cherry Vanilla Shake
- 1.5 cups almond milk (fresh or store bought)
- ½ an avocado
- 2 large handful cherries (pitted and preferably organic)
- 2 large handfuls ice
- 2 T vanilla extract
- 1 tsp almond extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- liquid stevia to taste
