What I'm Packing for a Kid Free Weekend
The weekend Doug and I are headed to Miami for a kid-free birthday getaway. We rarely travel without the girls so when we do it is very special!
When I pack for any trip I start by laying out all of my potential outfits and making sure I am only packing clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry that can be mixed, matched and worn multiple ways. Anything that doesn't “play nicely with others” goes back in the closet. For Miami, I’m bringing my favorites from this summer and focusing on a romantic palette of soft pinks, white and ivory that I don’t get to wear very much in NYC.
Friday Night: Dinner Out
For our first dinner I plan on wearing my favorite dress from this summer, go with anything high wedges, a beach appropriate clutch (because I don’t have to take coloring sets to dinner!) and a floral scrunchie in case the humidity get the better of my hair! I always wear my special locket necklace with pictures of my girls to keep them close to me even when they are far away.

Saturday: Poolside and lunch
For our first full day at the pool I plan on wearing a favorite bikini topped with an easy dress as a coverup, flat sandals and a crossbody bag just big enough for my wallet and some sunscreen (no pool toys to carry!) When it is time for lunch and eventually cocktails the dress makes the transition seamless. To protect my skin from the sun a favorite hat and sunglasses keep me safe and stylish.

Sunday: Beach Day
For a full day lounging on the beach I plan on wearing my favorite one piece and beach skirt paired with my hat and flat sandals. My straw bag (doubles as my carry on for the plane) will certainly be filled with a great novel or two and sunscreen!

I am a bit of a clean product junkie and always make sure to pack my shower essentials, SPF, and vitamins in my favorite monogrammed bag. The solid SPF is stick is great to add a little dewy glow to your face while protecting it!

I keep my makeup bag packed with my very simple everyday routine of products so I am always ready to go. For this trip I also threw in a few favorite skin care products like a nightly gentle peel for glowing skin and a hydrating serum!
