A Royally Fun Birthday
Last weekend we celebrated Hermione's Fourth Birthday with a Princess Bash for all of her girlfriends. I can't believe my little girl is 4! She seems so big now. She has the funniest, smartest, sweetest personality and is really turning into her own person. She loves holidays and is always asking me what my favorite holiday is. My answer is always "your birthday" which couldn't be more true. The day Hermione was born my life changed forever. Becoming her mom is the best thing that ever happened to me and as cliched as it may sound I can't remember what life was like without my little spitfire.
Hermione is in a deep princess phase right now so a princess themed party was a natural fit. For help executing my vision of the ultimate girly, pink princess bash I turned once again to Keren Precel of Simply Perfect Events. As expected Keren took my concept and ran with it! I couldn't have been more thrilled with how Hermione's party turned out and neither could the birthday girl!
When Hermione's friends arrived they were greeted with a personalized crown to help them get into princess mode. They then made their way to the princess makeover spa we created complete with glitter tattoos, face painting, manicures and hair braiding! Most of the girls spent the party going from one station to the next getting the full royal treatment!
No princess party would be complete without, in Hermione's word, "real life Princesses who could talk!" Throughout the party the girls got to chat, play with and take photos with Belle, Rapunzel and Elena. Hermione was especially excited when the princesses taught the girls how to play "prince, prince, frog" (a royal version of duck, duck, goose). She loved her special guests so much she couldn't pry herself away from them long enough to enjoy any of the makeover stations! If you ever need a princess at your party I cannot recommend New York Princess Party enough! They were so sweet and engaging with the girls. Truly magical!
I love providing a spread at parties that appeals to both kids and grownups. Our guests are always surprised at how delicious and filling vegan food can be! On the royal menu consisted of crostini, spring salad, assorted roasted vegetables, hummus and crudite cups, vegan pizzas and of course cupcakes, brownies and birthday cake!
This was the first birthday party Hermione had where she really had a blast from beginning to end. She loved the princesses so much and was laughing and running around the whole time. I can hardly believe my baby girl is 4! It has never felt more true that the days are long but the months and years are short. These days I notice myself lingering in her bed a little longer at bedtime, kissing her a little more often, smelling her hair every chance I get, trying to hold onto the littleness of her while it lasts.
