Spooky Reads
When you have little kids Halloween is a month long celebration. We have been building up to the big night by reading some spooky (and not so spooky) books at bedtime. Here are a few of Hermione and Portia's favorite Halloween reads!
Birdie's Happiest Halloween by Sujean Rim
We are longtime fans of all the Birdie books ever since I was gifted Birdie's Big Girl Shoes at my Baby Shower for Hermione. All of Birdie's friend know what they want to be for Halloween, but not Birdie! A trip to the museum inspires Birdie and reminds us the sky's the limit-you can be anything you want to be! Curious what costume Birdie decides on? I won't spoil it but here's a hint... this book was released before the 2016 Election ;)
How to Make Friends with a Ghost by Rebecca Green
Ghosts are not as scary as you may think! In fact, most are looking for a lifelong (and beyond) friend. From favorite snacks to cozy napping spots this book will leave you throughly prepared to embark on a lifelong friendship with a ghost!
Vampirina Ballerina Hosts a Sleepover by Anne Marie Pace
Hermione loves all the Vampirina books. Right now she is very into the idea of sleepovers (mostly with Mommy or Portia) so this one is a favorite!
Creepy Carrots and Creepy Pair of Underwear by Aaron Reynolds
Jasper Bunny keeps getting caught up with creepy things! Or are they?
Duck & Goose, Honk! Quack! Boo! by Tad Hills
Portia is obsessed with all things Duck and Goose so I made sure to order this newest adventure as soon as it was released. Duck, Goose and Thistle are getting ready for trick-or-treating... but what about the scary swamp monster that is looking for Duck and Goose?
Spooky Pookie by Sandra Boynton
We love little Pookie. Every since Hermione was a baby Pookie books ( and all of Sandra Boynton) have been a staple in our bedtime routine. In this latest story Little Pookie can't decide what to be for Halloween...can his Mommy help?
