Hermione's Parisian Spa 6th Birthday Party

Last weekend we celebrated Hermione’s 6th birthday with the most perfectly fancy, girly party! This year she declared she wanted a “Fancy Nancy, Paris Spa Party.” As soon as she announced her theme I knew we had to have it at tenoverten. Hermione and I have been going to tennoverten together since her 3rd birthday and it is a place that hold a lot of meaning for us.

Once again, I turned to Keren Precel of Simply Perfect Events to execute my vision for the party. Let’s be honest it was actually Hermione’s vision! A girl after my own heart she always knows exactly what she wants for her birthday down to the very last detail.

For this party Keren transformed the salon into a pink Parisian dream featuring custom signs, paper flowers, pink pillows, and balloons. It was beyond lovely!

When guests arrived they were greeted by necklaces, rings, bracelets and boas to help them get “fancy.” Portia might have visited the jewelry bar more than once!

I like to make sure little guest have enough to do to keep them occupied but not so many activities that they will feel overwhelmed and unable to relax and enjoy themselves. For this party not only was each little guest treated to a mani/pedi we also had fabulous face painting on hand!

I love having a “special guest” at the girls’ parties to help entertain the kids and add some extra magic to the festivities. After all, it wouldn’t be a “fancy” party without a visit from Fancy Nancy herself! From the moment Nancy arrived Hermione and Portia were glued to her. She was the sweetest ever and the perfect addition to the celebration. If you ever need a princess or character for a kids party I cannot recommend NY Princess Party highly enough!

Kids parties do not need to mean pizza. In fact, I rarely serve pizza at the girls birthday parties opting for a menu kids and adults can both enjoy. As space was limited we decided to forgo a kids meal table and serve individual boxed dinners for guests to eat as they wished. The boxes contained the most delicious vegan ricotta on a baguette, crudite and fresh fruit. We also passed around crudite cups and assorted crostini. Of course no party would be complete without sweets! Guests were able to indulge in vegan macarons, butterfly and Eiffel Tower cookies and of course Birthday Cake!

I always make sure that our party favor will be something that can be used on repeat on won't end up in the garbage or giveaway pile. Before leaving each guest took home a special party favor including a straw bag embroidered with “Bisous, Bisous” a bath bomb, spa slippers, nail polish remover (no nail polish allowed at school), and a book from the Sparkle Spa series
