Mom's Morning of Wellness at WTHN
Recently I learned the term “matrescence” used for the transition process of become a mother. I love that there is a word for the awkward, exhausting, messy shift into the world of motherhood. When I became a mother 6 years ago the most dramatic shift I noticed was just how little time I had to myself anymore. Gone were lazy mornings in bed, double workouts, and trips to the spa. All of a sudden my top priority was taking care of someone else’s needs around the clock.
Taking care of my girls and helping them thrive gives me immense joy and it is also hard work. Sometimes we all need a little me time for self care! I am honestly a better mom when I take a little time for myself!
Recently, my favorite form of self care has been acupuncture at WTHN, founded my longtime friend and acupuncturist Dr. Shari Auth. Over the years I have gotten acupuncture to treat muscle pain, to relieve my anxiety, to help boost my energy, even to induce labor! I love that WTHN has taken acupuncture and made it affordable, accessible and easy to fit into your week! They also have their own line of Chinese herbs with fun names like “Kick It” and “ Run the World” that I have been taking and loving. After a 45 minute treatment with one of their healers I leave feeling completely refreshed and relaxed.
On Monday I hosted a Mom’s Morning of Wellness at WTHN to treat some of the mamas in my life to a little relaxation and self care. Guests enjoyed mini acupuncture treatments, herb consultations, and ear seeds as well as tutorials on WTHN’s many facial tools. In between treatments guests nibbles on smoothies, vegan scones and energy bits by my uber talented friend Chef Carlin Greenstein. Fleetwood Floral provided the stunning spring blooms for the event, which I was lucky enough to take home!
